What You Are Holding and Why​

I have entrusted you with a small set of items that form part of my Bitcoin security setup. You are one of several people holding a piece of this puzzle — but you do not need to know who the others are, and they do not know who you are. This is intentional.

On their own, the items you hold cannot access any funds. They only become useful when combined with items from at least two other people in this setup.

You do not need to understand how any of this works. You just need to keep these items safe and hand them to [HEIR NAME] if and when they contact you.

What Is Inside Your Envelope​

  • A steel stamped metal plate with words on it — this is the seed phrase
  • A small gridded card with a QR code pattern — this is the seed QR

⚠️ Keep both items together at all times. Do not separate them. The metal plate is the most important item — treat it like cash or a house key.

How to Store It​

  • Keep the envelope in a secure, dry location
  • Do not store it near strong magnets or extreme heat
  • Do not loan it to anyone
  • Do not photograph the metal plate or the QR card
  • Do not type the words on the metal plate into any device or computer
  • If you move home, bring it with you and let [HEIR NAME] know your new address

If [HEIR NAME] Contacts You​

If [HEIR NAME] contacts you and asks for the envelope, please:

  1. Verify it is really them — call them back on a number you already have for them, do not rely solely on a text or email
  2. Hand over both items — the metal plate and the QR card must stay together
  3. Be available to help — they may ask you to meet in person or to be present while they complete a process. Please cooperate as best you can.

If Something Happens to the Envelope​

If the envelope, metal plate, or QR card is lost, damaged, stolen, or seen by an unauthorised person, contact [HEIR NAME] immediately:
