Cashu & Chaumian eCash​

"Cashu is a free and open-source Chaumian ecash system built for Bitcoin. Nobody needs to know who you are, how much funds you have, and with whom you transact."

  • Based on David Chaum's 1982 Blinded Signature Technology
  • Wallet Example: Nutstash (wallet.nutstash.app)

Privacy via Mint Swaps​

  • Internal transactions within a single mint: perfect privacy
  • Inter-mint swaps: receiving mint doesn't know origin
  • Using different wallets/nodes for deposit and redemption erases traceability at low cost (only LN fees)

Practical Exercise: eCash over Nostr​

  1. Create wallet at wallet.nutstash.app
  2. Add a mint
  3. Configure Nostr settings to enable receiving tokens directly
